Sterling Bank Champions Creativity at 10th Africa Fashion Week Nigeria

In its role as the headline sponsor of the tenth edition of Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN), Sterling Bank underlined its commitment to the cultural and creative sector in Nigeria. The event, which took place in Lagos, was a demonstration of the bank's dedication to enabling Nigerian designers and creative enterprises to flourish both domestically and internationally.

During her remarks at the occasion, Chidimma Okoli, who is the Head of Brand Marketing, brought attention to the commitment of the bank to capacity-building measures within the creative sector.

Her statement was as follows: "Our objective is to provide Nigerian designers with the knowledge, connections, and opportunities they require in order to achieve success on the international stage." The Head of Tourism, Creative Arts, and Business at Sterling Bank, Abiola Adelana, emphasised the bank's overarching objective of providing financial services.

When we look at the creative industries, we perceive them as transformative. It was brought to her attention that our commitment to developing talent and innovation includes providing support to platforms such as AFWN.

At the event, one of the most memorable moments was when Ogboghodo Adesuwa Ella, the Chief Executive Officer of Lambert Fashion, was honoured for winning the Emerging Designers Competition. The fact that Sterling Bank recognises the importance of fostering individual talent is demonstrated by the fact that she was given the opportunity to attend the Kunle Afolayan Production Film Village with all of her expenses covered.

In addition, Nigerian merchants who participated in the event were incorporated into the Made By Nigerian Initiative organised by the bank. This ensured that continuing collaboration and assistance would be provided beyond the fashion display. As part of its broader commitment to innovation, resilience, and global competitiveness in Nigeria's creative industries, Sterling Bank has been involved with the African Film and Television Network (AFWN).
